Dear ICJA Family:

Yesterday, after I sent my update, one of our veteran teachers, Mrs. Wasserstrom, who is teaching remotely, sent me a note. For those who have had Mrs. Wasserstrom as a teacher, you know that she loves to use an overhead projector instead of a whiteboard or smartboard. It may be a little old-fashioned – but why tinker with success? However, now that she is teaching remotely, she wrote to me to report that her husband helped her assemble a document camera which she is using with her classes. As a result, she has now moved to a 21st-century version of her overhead projector and continues to teach with the same enthusiasm and skill as always! Kudos to her creativity and will to adapt.

Tomorrow all students will be receiving an email from our “free period sign-up software,” reminding them to sign-up for spots for the coming week. This past week free periods went smoothly, and there plenty of spots because so many of our students took advantage of being outside during their free periods. But, just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate, every student must have a place to go during their free periods – so sign-up. Here is the link http://www.signupgenius.com/go/ICJA-Week_8-31.

Our caterer StarrKosher is working very hard to make sure that we have a high-quality lunch program. Today they already expanded their menu to include hot items and allow for items that include a “motzi.” To help avoid lines for “netilat yadayim,” they are including a bottle of water in those lunches. We thank them for their efforts and encourage you to order your lunch with them www.starrkosher.com (and remember to add the word FREEDELIVERY in the coupon code). In addition, grab and go items (wraps, fresh grilled hot dogs, salads, and drinks) are available and can be paid for by credit card or cash.

Tomorrow, all of the morning classes will meet, but in the afternoon – only periods 7, 8, and 9 will meet, and school will be dismissed at 3:30 pm. Candle Lighting tomorrow night is at 7:09 pm.

Stay safe, stay connected, and please be inspired!

B’vracha,
